Scottish Parliament Call for Views on Funding for Culture

The new Constitution, Europe, External Affairs and Culture Committee (CEEAC) at The Scottish Parliament has opened a call for views on funding for culture.

The committee has opened this call for views ahead of next year’s Scottish Government Budget for 2022-23. The committee will then hear from witnesses before reporting to the Scottish Government as part of the pre-budget scrutiny process.

The Committee wants to hear views on the “continuing impact of COVID-19 on the culture sector, and how it should recover from the pandemic”. There are four main questions outlined on the Scottish Parliament YourViews site, here.

Culture Counts will submit a written response. If anyone working or volunteering in the culture sector has anything they'd like us to cover on their behalf, please let us know by emailing jennifer@culturecounts.scot by noon on Friday 3 September 2021.

The closing date for direct submissions is Wednesday 8 September 2021.
