Cross-Sector Delivery of a Net-Zero Scotland
The Scottish Parliament’s Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee has opened a call for views on the role of local government and its cross-sectoral partners in financing and delivering a net-zero Scotland.
Scottish Parliament agreed statutory targets to make Scotland a net zero nation by 2045. The committee’s inquiry and call for views is looking at where the main barriers to reaching the interim and 2045 targets are. They’ll focus on what practical steps councils are taking to break them down, particularly with their key partners including private secotr, social enterprise and communtiy groups.
The commttee wants to hear from “as many informed views as possible, and to engage positively with councils, companies, SMEs, academia, voluntary organisations and grassroots groups.”
The call for views closes on 21 January 2022.
