UK Parliament Report Says Music Streaming "Needs a Complete Reset".

A recent Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee (UK Parliament) inquiry raised issues with music streaming. One outcome of their inquiry was the publication of a new report ‘Music streaming must modernise. Is anybody listening?’, available here. The report calls for a ‘complete reset’ of music streaming.

The report highlighted issues of remuneration from streaming for performers, and the dominance of major music groups. The UK Government has accepted a key recommendation of the report to refer the dominance of major music groups to the Competition and Markets Authority.
