New Ministers:

Following the Scottish National Party’s leadership election, a number of changes occurred within the Scottish Government’s Cabinet. You can read our detailed analysis of these changes here.

Key culture sector positions include incumbent Cabinet Secretary for Constitution, External Affairs and Culture, Angus Robertson MSP continuing in this role.

Christina McKelvie MSP has been appointed as minister for Culture, Europe and International Development, replacing Neil Gray MSP.

Culture Counts wrote a series of letters to the First Minister, Cabinet Secretary and Minister congratulating them on their roles and highlighting areas of common interest and previous collaboration. These letters can be read here.

New Director:

In April, Lori Anderson took up post as Culture Counts' newly appointed director. As well as the above, her initial focus has been on coming up to speed with Culture Counts, connecting with key stakeholders and planning ahead.

Over coming weeks Lori will be reaching out to Culture Counts Core Members to arrange introductory meetings.
