Developing work of the pilot Arts Infopoint UK:
Arts Infopoint UK’s website now has recordings of two previous events. An event in partnership with Creative Europe Desk UK, focusing on incoming mobility routes to the UK with immigration solicitors. And An introductory event with the Mobility Info Point network and PEARLE, focusing on an overview for UK professionals looking to work in the EU post-Brexit
Upcoming events include:
29/04/21 Artist mobility webinar – country focus France
12/05/21 Artist mobility webinar – country focus Germany
27/05/21 Artist mobility webinar – country focus Belgium & the Netherlands
Further focuses being planned for Spain & Portugal and Czech Republic

Arts Infopoint hosted a private session with immigration solicitors to brief the other Info Points on visitor and work engagement routes for EU-UK mobility
Two dedicated part-time staff have been recruited for the Infopoint and will start work mid-April. Based within Wales Arts International, they will be supported in their work by partners in the other Arts Councils
Mapping of existing resources on outgoing UK-EU artist mobility is completed, and will be published on the website soon
Some eventual objectives for the Arts Infopoint UK pilot include contributing to centralised information on issues affecting artists mobility to & from the UK
DCMS convened post-Brexit working groups
There is currently a Cultural Touring Working Group, complemented with several subgroups taking forward work on more specific issues related to Brexit/the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA):
Cultural Export Office working group
UK Gov Guidance working group
Other work being taken forward:
Immigration rules (specifically Permit free festivals & permitted paid engagements - some eventual change and flexibility being explored here by Home Office – several Scottish festivals were present a recent discussion)
Cabotage - how to navigate the new rules that no longer have loopholes
Engagement in Europe - first step is BEIS (Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy) making clarifications with the Member States on what regulations are; then identifying what work is needed (language, clarity, challenging rules); where is their appetite for change in legislation, where are their priorities. While the initial mapping is expected in the next few weeks, it does not seem like the other parts of the work are going to be fast-moving.
