Consultation On a Possible Revision of the Councillors' Code of Conduct

The Scottish Government has opened a consultation on The Councillors’ Code of Conduct. The Code, a statutory document and guide to the standards of behaviour expected by elected councillors, is being refreshed to reflect changes in society such as the use of social media.

From the Consultation webpage: “We aim to produce a Code that is fit for purpose and will ensure the highest standards of conduct by our councillors to maintain and strengthen the trust of those they are elected to serve.”

The consultation closes on 12 March 2021. For more information and on how to respond, please see the Consultation webpage on Citizen Space.
