Culture Counts have launched a series of advocacy activities in preparation for the Scottish Parliament Election in May 2021.
Culture Counts are drafting a crowd-sourced Cultural Manifesto; we’re planning to use the manifesto to encourage political parties to make good decisions about cultural policy in their own manifestos for the upcoming Scottish Parliamentary Elections in May 2021.
There are numours ways for Culutre Counts Members, and the wider cultural sector to get invovled a Cultural Manifesto for 2021.
1. Idea Submissions: We’ve opened an online forum to gather ideas for the manifesto. Anyone can contribute.
To submit an idea, please complete our online form (200 words) and provide details of either three individuals working/volunteering in the cultural sector or by three organisations operating partly or fully in the cultural sector who support your idea.
2. Attend our Manifesto Events: We're running two Manifesto Events for anyone involved in the cultural sector (arts, screen, heritage & creative industries). You can book to attend both days. You can also choose to be part of specifc 'Strands' of the meetings, rather than be on Zoom for the full day. Whatever best suits your availability, and interests.
3. Monitoring parliament and government: Keeping up with developments in parliament and government is key to successful advocacy. This is a list of resources helping cultural organisations to identify advocacy opportunities.
Our new dedicated Election Campaign Page is now online.
